Not All Ethanol Fireplaces Are Created Equal

By September 24, 2017VAUNI

When shopping for your bioethanol fireplace be sure to take note that you get what you pay for. There are a plethora of cheap knock off varieties available to the unknowing consumer. Not only do you compromise on the integrity and uniqueness of the design, you are also open to the chance of receiving a substandard burner within the unit. This could put you at risk for added air pollutants and residue.

Additionally, many ethanol fireplaces and burners are created for outdoor use only. These units often do not burn as clean as an indoor variety and create safety hazards inside your home. All Vauni models are created for indoor use. The Globe variety is mobile and can be used indoors and outdoors as the seasons change.

Thank you for your interest in Vauni! Two great questions, please see answers below:

How long does the Vauni ethanol fire last?
Firstly, using a high-quality fuel will always help to create a longer lasting fire. The burn time will also be affected by the flame size which is controlled by a damper system adjusted by the user. With this in mind, average run times are as follows: Min. output (low setting): 8-10 hours, Max. output (high setting): 4-6 hours.

Does the fire put out carbon monoxide fumes?
If used properly, there is no risk of carbon monoxide poisoning while using a Vauni fireplace. In fact, the U.S. Fire Administration and the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) considers bioethanol fireplaces safe and suitable for home use. All fire, no matter the fuel source (wood, gas, bio-fuel) will produce carbon monoxide. That said, Vauni fireplaces are designed with the markets most advanced ethanol burners in that the combustion is optimized, turning the carbon monoxide created by fire into carbon dioxide and water, which are the same residue products naturally produced when we breathe out. That is why no chimney, venting or flue are required. To ensure safety, one should always adhere to the minimum space requirements (2-liter burner: Minimum 183 sq. feet, 3-liter burner: Minimum 215 sq. feet) and choose a reputable, high-quality bioethanol fuel.

We hope that’s useful information! Please let us know if we can help you further.
